Happy September everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Gabriella, and I’m the programming liaison here at The Fund For College Auditions. I work on our social media channels, help brainstorm fundraising ideas and initiatives, and provide administrative and technical support for students and families. You might have seen me in-person last year, stage managing at our Broadway For a Day concert at Symphony Space in NYC! Each month on this blog, I’m here to provide some updates about what we’ve been up to at TFCA.

Summer Fundraising Successes

This summer, we launched a virtual fundraising campaign called Broadway Squared, where students could get the chance to coach with Broadway stars and collaborate on a virtual performance of their favorite songs! Participating performers included Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill), Christine Dwyer (Wicked), Danielle Wade (Mean Girls), Olivia Kaufmann (Mean Girls), Lila Coogan (Mary Poppins), Michael Campayno (Wicked), Joe Carroll (Frozen), Mallory Bechtel (Dear Evan Hansen), and Sophia Gennusa (Matilda). Read more at the Playbill article here!

This fall, all students who participated in Broadway Squared will also participate in a group session and an ensemble performance of “Seasons of Love” with Telly Leung (Rent, Aladdin). Stay tuned for that treat!

Thanks to the power of social media, this summer we were able to reach tons of new folks, and are approaching 2k followers on Instagram! With this surge of new followers, we raised $10,000 in 36 hours. That’s enough to fund another student!

Some incredible folks on Instagram have also started their own initiatives to raise money for TFCA. From book clubs to fitness challenges to virtual concerts, we’ve seen some really creative ideas! You can keep up with these by following us at @TheFundForCollegeAuditions on Instagram. (Got any creative ideas of your own? Shoot us a DM or email gabriella@thefundforcollegeauditions.org, and remember to tag us!)

As we head into September, we’re challenging all our followers to try our Fall Action Items Bingo. Remember to tag us at @TheFundForCollegeAuditions on Instagram!

2019-2020 Scholars Head to School!

August and September also means it’s time for last year’s scholars to start their college journeys! Scholar Anthony (pictured below) was the first to move in at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. (Go Pickles!)

Now that summer is coming to an end, we’re looking forward to seeing what the next year has in store for our organization and our scholars. Check back here for updates, musings from our scholars and special guests, and more!
